I know you have all heard it a million times, the word meditation. And for most of us our first response is I can not sit quiet for that long. I can’t shut my mind off!! I don’t have the time to just sit and do nothing, my todo list is far to long.
Well the good news is, you don’t have to do it for long to reap the benefits, you don’t have to shut your mind off ~ you just need to quiet the chatter. It’s about taking a little time for yourself to just be.
It will help you to develop a more positive mood and outlook. You will sleep better and who doesn’t need that. Mediation can also help to reduce stress and anxiety, as well as help you attention span and can also possible help with memory. Its a great tool to enhance your self awareness and help with your emotional health.
So taking a little me time even if it is just for 15 minutes you will begin to see the benefits. Guided meditation is a great place to start, you are really just listening to a story and you are in it. You tube is a great place to find meditations and find ones for just the right amount of time you have to spare.
What do you have to lose? Its something we all can do, something we all can benefit from and you can do it anywhere ( well not while driving or operating heavy machinery.) But you can do it on your lunch break, in your bed, on your couch, in a chair, in the tub you get it. Just like “green eggs and ham” you can do it anywhere.
Try it you might just surprize yourself!! And really what do you have to lose? Other than a little piece of mind.
