Inner Peace: What is it and how do I get it?

Inner Peace, what is it and how do I get it?

Inner Peace is a state of calm, a state of inner calm. Being at peace is much healthier for us then the opposite which would be stress or anxious. So inner peace in the most simplest term is a mind that is happy, content, serene and calm.

Sounds so simple doesn’t it? Well it can be, maybe not over night, or right away but with some simple steps you can be on the road to inner peace.

What we are trying to accomplish is to replenish our spirit. To quiet our minds. To rest. To Unwind. To just be. When we are well rested our mental and emotional we function much differently, we talk and act of calmness- we are not cranky, nor do we get snippy or angry when we talk to family, friends, co workers.

We are functioning from a “peaceful state of mind” and there is no judgement of ourselves or others.

So know you are asking how do we get there?  I am going to keep it simple, because at the end of the day we will do and try things if they are not over complicated.

Here are a few simple ways to get you started.  Try them! You will be surprised how much better life will feel.

  1. Accept yourself for exactly who you are right now in this moment. It’s ok if you are perfect, we are all a work in progress. Things can be changed.
  2. Be Grateful- think of one thing you are grateful for each day.
  3. Let go of what you do not have control over.
  4. Focus on the now.

The path taken to inner peace can be simple or hard, is all depends of you and the path you chose to take.
